The MSD Ignition 8356 Pro-Billet Dual Pickup Distributor is engineered for engines that demand redundant ignition triggering — think marine applications, endurance racers, or vehicles where a single pickup failure means a DNF. It houses two independent magnetic pickups in a single billet aluminum distributor body for instantaneous backup triggering.

Machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum with a 0.500-inch billet steel shaft supported by sealed ball bearings top and bottom. Each pickup is independently wired with its own two-wire harness, generating a clean 5-volt peak-to-peak trigger signal. The distributor includes a fully adjustable mechanical advance assembly with MSD's range of advance springs and stop bushings. Compatible with any MSD CD ignition box — simply connect the primary pickup to your MSD 6/7/8 series box and the secondary pickup to a spare or backup box. Cap is standard Pro-Cap with brass terminals.

The dual pickup setup provides instant failover — if the primary pickup signal drops, the secondary pickup takes over ignition timing without any interruption or change in timing curve.
