This mass air flow sensor is the component that measures the volume and density of air entering your engine so the ECU can calculate the correct fuel delivery. A failing MAF sensor causes rough idle, hesitation under acceleration, and poor fuel economy as the ECU reverts to default fuel maps. Replacing a worn sensor restores accurate air/fuel ratio control and sharp throttle response in your fuel injection system.

This replacement MAF sensor meets or exceeds OEM specifications for airflow measurement accuracy. The platinum hot-wire element reacts instantly to changes in air intake velocity, providing real-time data to the engine management system without lag. The housing is a direct-fit replacement with the same electrical connector pinout and mounting hole spacing as the factory unit. A new sealing gasket or O-ring is included to prevent unmetered air from bypassing the sensor.

Installation is a 10-minute job: disconnect the electrical connector, remove the retaining screws, carefully pull the old sensor from the intake duct without damaging the sensing element, and install the new one. No programming or adaptation is required. Clear the ECU memory after installation and perform an idle relearn procedure as specified in your vehicle service manual.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MAF sensor housing diameter on the MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR?

The MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR features a 3 to 4 inch housing diameter that matches common intake tube sizes for accurate airflow readings. This mass air flow sensor housing is precision-machined to maintain the correct sensor position and airflow straightener orientation. The smooth bore eliminates turbulence that can cause erratic idle and driveability issues.

Does the MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR require recalibration after installation on my vehicle?

The MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR is calibrated for the specific engine displacement and MAF transfer function of your application. This mass air flow sensor housing maintains the correct internal diameter to keep the sensor reading within its calibrated range. For heavily modified engines, a custom tune may be needed to rescale the MAF transfer function.

What specific performance benefits does the MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR offer for my vehicle?

The MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR enhances your vehicle's air and fuel delivery system for improved power and efficiency. This performance part is engineered to OEM specifications or better using high-quality materials. Expect noticeable gains in throttle response and overall driving experience after installation.

Is the MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR a direct bolt-on replacement for my factory component?

The MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR is designed for direct fitment on your specific vehicle application without major modifications. This component uses factory mounting points and connections for a straightforward installation process. Basic hand tools and approximately 30 to 60 minutes are typically all that is needed.

Does the MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR require any ECU tuning after I install it on my engine?

The MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR typically does not require ECU tuning for basic bolt-on installations on stock or mildly modified engines. The engine's computer can compensate for small changes in airflow or fuel delivery within its learning parameters. A professional tune is recommended if you combine this with other significant engine modifications.

What materials are used in the construction of the MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR?

The MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR is constructed from high-grade materials such as 6061-T6 aluminum, stainless steel, or heat-resistant polymers. This component is designed for durability under under-hood temperatures reaching 250 degrees Fahrenheit. The materials are selected for corrosion resistance and long-term reliability in automotive applications.
