PerTronix Ignitor® Solid-State Ignition Systems
PerTronix Ignitor® Solid-State Ignition Systems
The PerTronix Ignitor for Chrysler electronic distributors provides a drop-in electronic conversion for Mopar engines originally equipped with factory electronic ignition from 1972-1980. While these Mopars already have electronic ignition, the factory system is notorious for control module failures and pickup coil degradation. The Ignitor replaces the factory pickup with a more reliable Hall-effect sensor.
This Ignitor module is specifically designed for Chrysler electronic distributors found in 318, 340, 360, 383, 440, and Hemi V8 engines. It replaces the factory reluctor and pickup coil assembly with a Hall-effect sensor and magnet sleeve that fits the existing distributor shaft. The module operates on 12 volts and includes the two-wire harness that connects to the factory wiring. Installation retains the stock cap, rotor, and advance assembly.
Mopar factory electronic ignition systems are one of the most common failure points on classic Mopars — the control modules overheat and fail, and pickup coils degrade over time. The Ignitor eliminates the factory pickup entirely, providing a more reliable trigger signal that doesn't degrade with heat or age. Installation takes about 30 minutes and replaces only the pickup components inside the distributor, keeping your Mopar's stock appearance.
Fix the weakest link in your Mopar's ignition once and for all. Install the PerTronix Ignitor for Chrysler electronic distributors and drive with confidence.
